The Intercruises Singapore team recently supported Genting Cruise Lines, during its 25th anniversary celebrations in the Port of Singapore.

The festivities took place aboard the Genting Dream and commemorated the maiden voyage of the Langkapuri Star Aquarius, that originally set sail from Singapore 25 years ago.  Nearly 500 guests attended the event including government officials, travel agents and business partners. Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Education, Chee Hong Tat was also present as the event’s Guest of Honour.

In the last 12 months, Genting Dream has been the only ship on a year-round deployment in Singapore, and has since welcomed over 400,000 passengers onboard. With the majority of its guests flying into the city to board the ship, the port has enjoyed substantial economic benefits (now the busiest port in Asia in terms of international cruise passengers), not only for airlines and airports, but for hotels, shops and tourism, as many visitors tend to stay in the city for a couple of days pre- and post-cruise.

“It was a fantastic experience for the Intercuises Singapore team to be involved with such a big day in Genting history! We assisted in the ushering of VIP guests, state ministers and very high profile people, so it was all very exciting. The whole team did a fantastic job supporting the event, while also spreading that great, Intercruises energy that helped to make the day even more special!”- Sheikh Uthman Mustaffa, Operations Supervisor, Intercruises Singapore
