Last week, over 20 members of the Intercruises team joined more than 2,600 other cruise industry professionals in Lisbon for the 2018 edition of Seatrade Cruise Med. Year on year, this popular event continues to attract the region’s “who’s who” of the industry, for two days of networking and discussion. Here are our hightlights!
Showing our support!
Intercruises was once again happy to show its support as Seatrade’s official supplier of transfers (to and from the event and party venue), staffing (registration, stand, conference and party staff) and lanyards. Intercruises also handled pre- and post-event tours for attendees and cruise line executives to popular nearby destination Sintra, as well as a specially organized river boat cruise for Seatrade staff.
Furthermore, Intercruises was the Official Logistics Partner for the CLIA Port & Destination Summit – a networking evening and day workshop which took place the day before Seatrade Cruise Med. Having sourced the venue and hotel, Intercruises provided staffing, transfers and general assistance in the organization of the event. Please consider that all this was handled by the Intercruises Lisbon team during multiple ship days and a taxi strike!
Marketing & Communications Manager, Steve Denton, said “A huge well done and thank you to the Portugal team and all those that supported our operations during the CLIA and Seatrade events. The team were excellent in front of our clients and key cruise industry stakeholders, enabling us to have the most brand exposure we have ever had at a single event.”
Global Product & Operations Manager, Ramon Hurtado, participated in the “Meeting Future Demand in the Med and its Adjoining Seas” session, during which he discussed the ways Intercruises is embracing technology to keep up with the demands, growth and trends of the industry. Product Development Director Med, Deborah Vega also participated in a panel that explored how new technologies and innovations are being used to enhance guest experience. Additionally, Olga Piqueras was a judge on the lightening pitch session entitled ‘Why We Are Cruise Ready’, where participants had 90 seconds to showcase their port or destination to a panel of cruise line executives and industry influencers.
National Manager France & Monaco, Amaury De Williencourt and Steve Denton, Marketing & Commnications Manager, both made the 40 person shortlist for Seatrade’s brand new 20 Under 40 award, which recognizes and celebrates 20 professionals under the age of 40 who are making waves in the cruise industry. During Seatrade, Amaury was announced as one of the final 20 – well done Amaury! (sorry Steve) Read more here.
Intercruises was also awarded Runner Up in the Seatrade Cruise Awards Innovative Shorex category for its Panda Sanctuary CSR Program in Sichuan, China. Congratulations to the Intercruises Asia team for this great achievement! Read more here.
