In preparation for the Seatrade Cruise Awards 2018, we set up an internal competition to find Intercruises’ most innovative shore excursions! The competition has now closed and we have our three finalists!
- Fish, Field and Flavour: A Journey through Guernsey’s Local Offerings
(Guernsey, United Kingdom)
This tour brings both onboard and onshore expertise together to offer a unique and tasty local experience. Guests are accompanied by the ship’s chef and barman on a journey of discovery where they’ll explore the authentic tastes of Guernsey-made products.
- The Architects’ Legacy
Guests are welcomed into the creative and intimate workspace of world-renowned architects in the heart of Catalonia. They will then get to admire an example of their work as they dine at a two-Michelin-star restaurant. The tour ends with a walk around the stunning medieval town of Besalú.
- Panda Sanctuary CSR Program
This tour offers the opportunity to support an established and Government-recognized institution which makes a significant difference to the lives of a species that has been under the threat of extinction for some time. Fundamentally, it offers guests an alternative wildlife experience in Asia, while also largely benefiting the wellbeing of the much-loved panda bear!
“We have been so impressed with the quality of the tours that have been submitted from our regions this year. This particular award celebrates innovation within shore excursions, and it’s been very interesting to see how Intercruises’ teams have gone the extra mile to innovate. Although competition was tough, the tours we have chosen have managed to keep it simple, while addressing various current topics such as the decentralization of tourism. We’re really happy with our finalists, and look forward to seeing how they get on during the next stages!” – Carmen Morosan, Global Shore Excursion Manager
