Intercruises was recently approached by CSA – a strategic planning consultancy currently working for the Museum of Science in Boston, New England. The consultancy has been hired to provide expert advice for the museum’s latest experience, currently in development.

Global Shore Excursion Manager, Carmen Morosan took part in a one-hour interview with the consultancy, and was asked to provide feedback on the innovative ideas the consultancy agency had already put together.

The ideas focused around the concept of a 3D film show that would be projected onto the museum’s iconic dome.

Carmen was required to rate their ideas on a scale from 1 – 5 through a series of questions, evaluating the attraction’s innovation, potential popularity, suitability for cruise passengers and possible target demographic. Carmen was also asked to assess its suitability alongside Intercruises’ existing and future SHX experiences in Boston.

Ideas for the film:

  • A look into the region’s achievements in sports over time.
  • A view into New England’s rich history, voiced by a famous actor from the region.
  • An in-depth insight into what modern family life is like for locals, and what they love about the region, featuring the best attractions of the region such as the Foliage Season.
  • A report on how New England has contributed to the world of science, featuring an exclusive look at the exciting projects happening now and in the future at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and other research facilities around the region.

Based on her extensive experience, Carmen was also asked if she could brainstorm her own concepts and potential formats for the future attraction. As a token of appreciation, Intercruises was awarded a $200 honorarium payment, which was donated directly to the Freedom Trail Foundation.

The Freedom Trail Foundation supports preservation, rehabilitation and capital projects for official Freedom Trail sites which help avoid, minimize or mitigate adverse effects of the elements and man-made wear and tear of precious 17th, 18th, and 19th century sites in Boston. Intercruises has been a longstanding partner of The Freedom Trail Foundation for many years, and our tours in the area regularly feature the sites that are protected and cared for by the foundation.

“It’s a very exciting time for Intercruises in New England at the moment, so it was a real pleasure to offer my two cents toward the development of a major future tourist attraction.  Intercruises continues to increase its presence in the region, so it’s extremely important for us to keep establishing and maintaining great relationships with local suppliers. New England is also the first region in the USA to adopt “app4check” – a self-assessment system for suppliers and providers to ensure the continuity of quality service that adheres to Intercruises’ global standards.” – Carmen Morosan
