It’s been a great season across Africa – here’s a quick update from what’s happening around the continent!

Teams maintain maintain strong commitments to causes close to their hearts
On July 14th, the ATC Namibia team received a certificate of gratitude from the Save the Rhino Trust Namibia, presented by the trust’s Chairman, Maxi Louis, to show their appreciation for the funds and support we have contributed to the cause over the past two years. We look forward to continuing our support towards the trust in the hope of making a significant impact on conserving this wonderful species, currently in danger of extinction.

ATC Namibia have been generously supporting nature conservation for a number of years, and is also big supporter of ISAP Namibia – a non-profit organization that aims to create awareness and support against poaching. An app for the organization has been developed for both the general Namibian population, as well as tourists, and provides a platform for reporting suspicious activities concerning poaching and other environmental issues in real time. This is supported to ensure that the environment of Namibia is preserved and future generations have the pleasure on visiting Namibia.

Luxury vessel makes a call to Walvis Bay Port
January 19th was a big day for the team- as a luxurious renowned cruise liner made an unprecedented call at Walvis Bay. The overnight call was a complete success, with almost all passengers onboard participating in the many interesting shore excursions the Intercruises team had to offer in the area.

Successful calls handled in the country
Despite the significant drop in the number of visitors to the country, in October & November 2017, Intercruises successfully handled operations in the ports of Alexandria and Safaga for two large cruise ships, taking care of over 4,500 passengers and almost 2,000 crew members. The Intercruises Egypt team was well prepared and fantastically managed the handling of shore excursions for over 1,500 passengers! The excursions included the highlights of Alexandria, Cairo, Hurghada and Luxor, as well as various other monumental and historical landmarks of Egypt inbetween the ships’ calls.
