Intercruises’ Managing Director Olga Piqueras kicked-off proceedings at the International Cruise Summit in Madrid at the end of November – an event that saw over 300 cruise line executives descend upon the Spanish capital.
The three-day conference is an effective platform for industry professionals from all corners of the globe to gather and to share their views on the driving forces behind their businesses, and to explore through further discussion the common challenges currently being faced by the industry.
Moderating the first panel entitled “Checking the pulse of the cruise industry,” Olga was joined on stage by Craig Milan (Vice President Itineraries and Destinations at Virgin Voyages), Doug Prothero (Managing Director at The Ritz Carlton Yacht Collection), Christian Boell (Managing Director Europe at Norwegian Cruise Line), Giuseppe Carino (Vice President Guest Experience & Onboard Revenue at Costa Cruciere) and Benoit Perrin (CFO at Pullmantur Cruises), initiating an engaging discussion that explored several trending topics ranging from sustainability to the set-up of a new cruise line.
“The ICS is a very special event, and certainly one of the highlights on our calendar. This year has been another big success, and it’s always so wonderful to see so many familiar faces in one room.” Said Olga, who has attended the event every year since its inception in 2011.
Intercruises’ Global Product & operations Manager Ramon Hurtado also took to the stage, participating in a panel that explored the market trends that are currently impacting the future of cruise ports.
As official sponsors of the event, the Intercruises brand had a strong presence, from organizing the coach transport for delegates to the CLIA dinner on the first evening, to sponsoring the first coffee break the following day.
We’d like to thank the International Cruise Summit for organizing and delivering yet another fantastic event, and we very much look forward to attending and being just as involved at the next one!
