Seatrade Cruise Europe Industry Update:
As usual, the event hosted a number of key discussions on the future of cruising in Europe and around the world, highlighting emerging issues and identifying new areas of opportunity. Some of the key outcomes can found below:
- Cruising’s current state is healthy in Europe but the industry should communicate more proactively, especially on sustainability issues
- Future cruise ships will not look radically different but will reflect a stronger focus on wellness and sustainability, two megatrends that are influencing product development.
- River cruising’s future is expected to be as diversified as possible, catering to a broader target market including millennials, with vessels as big and green as possible.
