With Australia coming to the end of its 2016/2017 cruise season, we decided to have a quick look at the highlights for the Intercruises team.
Sydney Double Turn Days: on January 28th & February 9th a strong Intercruises team of 250 colleagues supported operations for 15,000 guests, which included managing 75 coaches, five ferries and three luggage barges, with the Ovation of the Seas at the cruise terminal and Radiance of the Seas at anchor. The team did a great job, as highlighted in an email from RCCL……
“What a day! It seems like we keep on breaking records in Sydney, and I’m sure today will go on the books as the busiest cruise day for the port… Ever! Once again, you and your team executed two flawless operations today. Despite the fact we had 2 huge operations running simultaneously, you guys stood up to the challenge and made it happen. From planning to execution, the passion and commitment demonstrated by your Intercruises Sydney team is astonishing. No matter what challenge we throw at you guys, you always run with it and make it happen. Thank you for being the reliable partner and leader that you are, and thank you to the team for going above and beyond in ensuring every guest is looked after as if it was your own. I am incredibly proud of how today went, and you have a lot to be proud of too. Please thank the entire team for all the hard work, every single one of them delivered outstanding work!” RCCL Account Manager
Maiden Calls: Ovation of the Seas, the largest cruise ship to have ever visited Australia, made its first ever calls to Fremantle, Adelaide, Hobart, Sydney (8 turnarounds), Brisbane and Darwin. Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth made its maiden call to Busselton, where 500 guests joined Intercruises tours and there was also a maiden call to Phillip Island, where the ship stays from 7am-midnight, enabling ober 600 guests to join an Intercruises tour to see the Penguin Parade at sunset, where penguins return home to their colony. All operations were successfully handled by the Intercruises team.

“I just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to you and your teams for all your efforts and assistance and your professionalism in all the Australian ports this season. Special Thanks of course to Stephen for following us all over and making it happen” NCLH Regional Manager
Best AZA Turn: The comments from the cruise team for the Azamara Journey speak for themselves…..
“Just wanted to advise that this was the best turnaround I have experienced since starting on JR. Both Debark and Embark was almost flawless. By the way there was background music in the terminal which was very upbeat and many of the Intercruises staff, our crew and guests commented on the delightful music. I believe it made a difference in the guests mood.“
A big congrats to the Australia team on a great job!
