On January 6th 2017 there was a shooting at Fort Lauderdale Airport. Intercruises was handling ships that day, with representatives at the airport and pier. In the aftermath of the event, cruise lines praised the tremendous effort of the local team in continuing operations and customer service in very difficult circumstances. (Picture – Bill Sharp, VP Port & Shore Operations – Holland America Line,  invited all Intercruises staff involved that day to a thank you dinner.)

“I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all of you who have gone out of your way (and in many cases worked very long hours) to adapt to the changing situation during yesterday’s tragic events. Having spoken to the guests, I can assure you that all your efforts were very much appreciated. I find that in emergency situations like this, our team members readily step up to the plate and shine in extraordinary ways.” Holland America Line

“I would like to take a moment to thank your teams for the amazing job during what was a very long and difficult day.  The support Intercruises gave was instrumental in being able to make a challenging day for our guests into a positive day.  Thank you for the long hours and most importantly, for going the extra mile, and providing a cheering and warm welcome to our late arriving guests. Seeing the expressions on their face and knowing they were able to make it to their vacation, after such a stressful travel experience, made it all worth while.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!” Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines

“On behalf of the entire global Intercruises business, I want to thank the team for the service they delivered in these circumstances. The teamwork and show of unity in supporting each other, the cruise lines and their guests was magnificent and exemplified our values; passion, integrity and reliability. You went well above and beyond – well done and thank you.” Olga Piqueras, Intercruises Managing Director
