Super Cruising has officially reached Australia with Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas calling at Fremantle in Western Australia on Tuesday 6th December. Scores of spectators to Fremantle, with enthusiasts eager to catch a glimpse of the largest cruise ship to enter Australian waters.
The Intercruises Australia team were on hand to oversee the “mini-turn” of 3600 guests (which was the largest turn ever in Fremantle!) Led by Turnaround Services Manager, Sue Yates, and supported by Jessica Currey, Tonia Swanson, Chris Love and Debra Sweikert from our Sydney team the meticulous planning and attention to detail paid dividends with a long, challenging but ultimately, successful day. With only a handful of turnarounds in Fremantle each season the pressure was on the local pier team, yet they coped admirably with the tasks thrown at them including local media, TV crew, entertainers and a completely new check in system. Huge congratulations to the entire team.
The Ovation roadshow now rolls on to Adelaide this Sunday, which will be the first ever Royal Caribbean turnaround in the port. After a transit day in Hobart the cruise will end in Sydney on the 15th, where the Intercruises team will conduct a full turnaround of 5000 guests.
