Members from Intercruises Asia & Global Platform gathered in Intercruises offices in Beijing for a four day workshop. Focussing on operations best practices, the event provided the team with an opportunity to discuss new procedures and standards going forward:

Day 1:  Care Team Training

Care Team Training took place on the first day, led by Robert Doma, Health & Safety Manager, and Errol Chicano; outlined in the training was what to do in an emergency situations,  how Care Team professionals help those most in need during tragic situations and the correct method to report these incidents.

Day 2 – Leadership Session / Product / Operations

The second day there were presentations delivered by member of Intercruises Asia regional management team – focussing on Leadership, Product Development and Operations standards.

Following the presentations, the team went off-site to the one of the world’s modern wonders, The Great Wall, to engage in  various team building exercises in which teams had to create “Advertising Videos” and paint branded mosaics.

Day 3:  Giving Back @ Sunvillage

The Intercruises team visited the Sunvillage to help the children there who are the sons & daughters of convicts., and have been left behind without any money, education or parental guidance. This organisation aims to raise these kids into independent, responsible adults, through education, health diet and social interactions (sports, playing and other activities).

The team donated items to the children to help them with a project know as the “Flower Market” – this market is a green room in which Children plant and grow flowers before selling them to help fund trips to visit their parents in jail. Children both cultivate the flowers, price the items and sell the products to visitors – gaining valuable life experience. Below is a list of items that Intercruises donated:

  • 10 mm2 national standard electric wire x 5 sets
  • Sickles x 30 pieces
  • Hoes x 30 pieces
  • Spade x 30 pieces

Day 4:  Brainstorming, Product and Bonding

To help with the day’s main activity of brainstorming, the team began their day at the UNESCO Temple of Heaven with some relaxing Tai Chi. Then, to provoke inspiration the team climbed Jinshan Mountian to enjoy breathtaking views of the Forbidden City. With their minds now in a place of zen and buzzing with ideas, the team finished the day with a brainstorming session, reflecting on the Tour/Shorex they enjoyed that morning.
